Wunya (Welcome) Baby and Child to Country Ceremony is a cultural ceremony for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families with Babies and Children who live in Zillmere, Taigum, Fitzgibbon and surrounding areas. Held on 12th November at Koobara from 10am-2pm.
Koobara Kindergarten and Kurbingui Youth Development invite you to register to attend a series of workshops. At these workshops you will decorate the headband that will be gifted to your Baby/Child as they are Welcomed to Country by the Traditional Custodians and decorate the Clap Sticks, made by Uncle Joe Malone, that will be gifted to each child aged 2 to 5 years.
Babies up to 2 years will receive a baby wrap in lieu of the Clap Sticks.
