Koobara’s beginnings are rooted in community leadership.

Our founding members, all those years ago, had the courage, drive and vision to create a space which reflected the cultures, strengths and aspirations of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.

This strong history serves as a solid foundation which guides our work today. Koobara is so much more than a kindy to us – it is a symbol of our continued sovereignty and survival.
